I am linking this post to Colorado lady Vintage Thingie Thursday. I am also listing this to Cindy's My Romantic Homes Show and Tell Friday. My Thanksgiving decor always incorporates American Indian items. I am showing you some of what I incorporate into my displays. I love the old childrens books showing the early life of the American Indian. They are colorful and give such a warm look at their early life. The Indian stature I got on ebay many years ago and the basket came from a yardsale. The Indian chief is an antique tobacco jar that belonged to my Grandfather. Much of his den was decorated with Indian items. I was blessed to have gotten this jar that was in his den for as long as I can remember. I will display these items in different settings with wheat and Indian corn. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the other wonderful things at Colorado lady!!!
Love that old tobacco jar of your grandfather's. What's it made of? Nice collection!
ReplyDeleteHi Dear, thanks for your nice comment on my wine cabinet/rack. I have never seen such an interesting piece as the Indian Jar. It's like a mini version of a Cigar Store Indian, I'll have to google the origin. I noticed you are a florist, what a lovely job! And it must be pretty up where you are. You're invited to come back for my giveaway next week, big hugs from California, tami
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky to have such a wonderful treasure from your grandfather and the memories to go with it. Your display is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your tree will turn out beautiful with all the jewels you've collected.
A very interesting post for today. There is some Indian heritage back down the line in my family. I guess that is why I enjoy seeing their work.
